Copyright Policy
Despite our efforts, Ookaboo sometimes acquires images which violate copyright. Sometimes people upload images to sites like Flickr and Wikimedia Commons that they don't own the rights to; this can lead our system to believe incorrect information, thus the inclusion of a photo which should not be there.
If you're adding images to Ookaboo, you should your common sense before adding an image. If, for instance, you find a scanned picture of a 1970s advertisement for a car, it's safe to say the person who took that picture did not have the rights to use it. We occasionally find that people upload large numbers of photographs that they don't own to other sites, and seek to remove all of the photos that these people contributed when we discover this.
All images in Ookaboo should be either public domain or creative commons. When we find images that violate this, we remove them. If you're the copyright holder or a concerned person, contact us, and we'll remove the offending image, see if other images got in through the same path, and improve our data filters.
Thanks for your vigilance.
