Policy on Images That Violate Privacy

Most Photographers own the rights to the images that they take. People pictured in images also have some rights, so it's a common practice for commercial photographers to get anyone pictured in a photograph to sign a release.

People who take photographs and post them to social web sites rarely complete this paperwork. Some sites do have a hard line against images in which non-famous people or their possessions are identifiable. We've considered the implications of this, and we believe that social moors are changing. Ookaboo contains photographs of amateur radio stations and their proud operators, privately owned cars on display at car shows and children visiting the remarkable Pakistan monument. We think these images are valuable and should be part of our site.

If you're using images from Ookaboo, we ask you to consider the way you use them. If you use them in a way that harms the people depicted, you may find yourself in trouble.

Please don't submit images to Ookaboo in which you feel a person's privacy is violated; in particular, we don't want images in which people are commiting crimes.

If you feel an image in Ookaboo or other information in Ookaboo violates your privacy or the privacy of another person, contact us to arrange for its removal.
