There are many great web sites that accept uploads of photos such as Flickr, Photo.net, Woophy, Geograph and Wikimedia Commons (to name just a few.)

We think these sites do a great job of accepting downloads, but we think we can do a better job of collecting metadata about images, connecting them to topics and helping people find them. This is how Ookaboo is different, and why Ookaboo accepts Creative Commons images from established sites like Flickr -- we think you can be more productive organizing tens of millions of existing photographs rather than taking photographs yourself.
